Is this for real?

The greatest obstacle to change is fear. We don’t want to change because we are afraid of the outcome. We are afraid of leaving what is comfortable to us. We are simply afraid. But, have you ever stopped to think about how you got to where you are now? You got to this place because of change.

I don’t care where you currently are… You didn’t start there. Just like today, yesterday we were looking at change with fear and uncertainty but something hit and change happened. Many of us are stubborn changers. Yes, stubborn changers. You know that it’s time to change. God has opened the heavens, showed you a sign, hit you on the head, and gave you a direct message saying, “It’s time to change” but you look at the message and reply, “Okay God, as soon as I’m done.” The interesting part is that, for me, this refusal to move is dipped in faithfulness, sprinkled in love, and wrapped in loyalty. But, the outcome of that is disobedience and hard-headedness…

When we don’t move WHEN God says, then we set ourselves, and others, up for the woo-woo!!! For those who don’t know, the woo-woo is where God says, “Since YOU won’t move, I’ll move you!!” Being forced to move by the Hand of God isn’t nice but, WE keep forcing His Hand. When He moves us, things get crazy. Many times, people’s feelings get hurt, the world is turned upside-down, and you literally have no choice but to move. I’ve seen it where God actually shutdown a business that I was working for in order to make me move. I recently saw where God used someone’s extreme illness as that “final straw” to bring a family back together.

But, here’s the fun part, when we move when it IS time… Oh My Goodness!!! When we move in God’s timing, things just seem to work. There’s no struggle. Things fall into place and it’s amazing. Instead of having the bumps and bruises of God’s forced Hand, we are left with smiles and wonderment, asking, “Is this for real?” But, we had to move at the right time. We have to overcome ourselves and the fears about change…

By no means am I saying that this is easy. Some of our fears are truly justified. There have been situations in our past that truly brought hurt and pain. The sheer thought of repeating similar situations only bring these feelings and fears back to the top. No one wants to repeat those times. But guess what? Fear is in the head. Faith is in the heart. We have to being willing to open our hearts and trust God that those crazy parts of change won’t be repeated. We have to give our hearts to change.

All I know is this… God created YOU as a creature of change. To ignore, or try to disallow, change is like drinking a gallon of water and expecting not to pee. Change is in you and must come out. The great part about it is that when we feel that urge AND handle our business… the weight will be lifted, we will be refreshed and rejuvenated AND we will be ready to take on the world!!!

Here’s the wrap-up,
You are greater than you give yourself credit. Don’t allow fear to keep you in a place where God has to force you to change. Move IN His timing and ALL things will be well. And if you’re afraid to move and need a friend, I’ll always be here to help you…

I love you ALL!!!
Stay Blessed,
